Home learning Homework will be given out on a weekly basis.  Students will receive their homework packet every Monday in their Homework Folder and it will be collected on Friday.  Please sit down with your child and read with them AT LEAST 20 minutes a day!  This is extremely important for them, as it will help them to become better readers.  Make sure to initial and go over their homework with them before turning it in.  Students that complete their Homework Packet for the week will receive a sticker.  If they have all of their stickers for the month they will earn a special treat from the treasure box. Homework is a review of what was covered during the school day.  It is important that students complete their homework on a daily basis to help them retain the information taught.  Students who miss 10 homework assignments will be given a referral.

Attendance Your child’s progress is influenced by his/her daily participation in class. Their attendance to class is extremely important to that progress. As a result Mater Gardens Academy has the following attendance policy in place: For every 3 unexcused absences a referral will be given. For every 10 tardies a referral will be given. *** If your child is absent, please make sure to send a note to excuse their absence.

Volunteer Hours Mater Gardens Academy requires parents to provide 30 hours of volunteer time/parental involvement each school year (per family) and an addition 15 for every sibling. Volunteer hours can be arranged with the teacher. You can volunteer your time by helping at school or at home. To redeem school volunteered hours, parents MUST sign in and out at the main office. Failure to complete the hours will result in non-registration for the following school year
