Public Health – National Level Public Health was declared One of Six major Challenges for Sweden, when the new policy for global development (PGU) was introduced March 18, The Aim of the policy is to contribute to fair and sustainable development, enabling poor people to benefit from globalization.

Public Health – National Level Renewed Swedish Public Health Bill Children, young people and the elderly are especially targeted groups as the Swedish government presents a new public health bill to parliament march 2008.

Public Health in Göteborg Policy for Public Health accepted in the City Council 1998 Public Health is One important part of the Budget for the City Göteborg – One part of sustainable development – in the Social Dimension The District Committees are responsible for Public Health at the local Level

Public Health in Göteborg Every District has a Public Health Board; here participate local politicians, health care people, dental care, police, church, housing, NGO´s and other local actors. The Board acknowledge a Public Health Action Plan for their area There is also a local planning Public Health Officer providing the Board and supporting the partnership in their activities, to follow them and report results
