How was Japan formed? Lies in a subduction zone  Pacific plate dives under the Eurasian and Philippine plates. Causing a hot bed of volcanic activity. This also causes tsunamis  “harbor waves” as they are known, are large waves traveling hundreds of miles/hour

What landform do the Koreas sit on? Korean Peninsula  mostly hilly and low mountains. Coastal plains lie in the west

Give a brief explanation of Modern history for Korea Controlled by Japan until the end of WWII, then were split between the USSR and the UN North was given to the USSR, while the South was given to the UN. This lasted until 1949 Fighting began in 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea. In 1953 fighting stopped when both sides signed an armistice. Now they have a DMZ along the 38th parallel. Recently North Korea has been in the news due to threats of nuclear weapons and threats of war.
