Weekly Theme Week Commencing 24 th September 2010 “Saying no to violence”

God of Peace, help us to be people who live peacefully with our neighbour. Amen

Jesus you said “My peace I give to you, my peace I leave for you”, help us to be peacemakers in today’s society. Amen St John Plessington Pray for us

Lord, today we pray for all sportsmen and women throughout the world, that through their sport they may promote friendship and peace between people. Amen St John Plessington Pray for us

Dear Jesus, help me to turn the other cheek when others use violent word towards me. Enable me to bring peace into the lives of others in my college community. Amen St John Plessington Pray for us.

Dear Jesus, help me be a good example to those who look up to me. Amen St John Plessington Pray for us

Lord God, crime is on the increase within our city and our country. From the depths of our hearts, we pray that you will comfort, heal and bless all the victims of crime. We pray too that you will protect all people from the evil of crime and violence. We pray especially for the conversion of all criminals - remove all evil from their hearts, and fill them with your goodness and love, that they may cease their evil works and that our city and land be free from all the scourge of crime and violence. We pray also for the grace to purge ourselves of all violence in our own thoughts and actions, in our family life, in our friendships and our relationships with others. Amen.

We believe in God: A communion of three Persons, A communion of Life A communion of Love A communion of Peace We believe in Jesus: God and human Prince of Peace We believe in his Gospel The Good News, God’s message of peace. We believe Jesus died, rose, And sent us the Holy Spirit So we could live in his peace. We believe in Baptism That makes us one family in Jesus, Crucified and risen from the dead To lead us to eternal peace. He is our hope. Through him, we pray for peace; With him, we work for peace. In him, we live for peace: The peace of God’s children To the glory of God. Amen
