Blessing Let us begin in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.

5 Opening Prayer Let us pray.
Loving God, you sent us your Son to bring your peace to the world. Help us to work for peace in our homes, our school, our city and our world. Protect all soldiers who are at war and bring them home safely to their families. Grant peace and consolation to the family members of soldiers who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to wars. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. All: Amen.

6 Gospel Reading (John 15:13-14)
A reading from the Gospel according to John. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.” The Word of the Lord… All: Thanks be to God.

7 Scripture Reading (Psalm 23)
A reading from the book of Psalm. The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

9 All: Amen Surely your goodness
and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. All: Amen
