2. Introduction
We remember the many brave men and women who have given their lives through the history of our country to protect us from danger and harm. We salute all those who served in the military, the police and the fire departments. We also remember all those who sustained injury in mind and/or body in the course of their service.

5. Opening Prayer Let us pray.
Loving God, you sent us your Son to bring your peace to the world. Help us to work for peace in our homes, our school, our city and our world. Protect all soldiers who are at war and bring them home safely to their families. Grant peace and consolation to the family members of soldiers who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to wars. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
All: Amen.

6. Gospel Reading (John 15:13-14)
A reading from the Gospel according to John.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are
my friends if you do what I command.”
