Presentation transcript:

In Social Studies we learned about the state capitals. For example, California’s capital is Sacramento, one of the most populated capitals in the United States.

Also in social studies we learned that a state's population has a lot to do with the state. One fact about population is that when there aren’t that many people living there it’s considered “scarce” when the state has a crowded population it’s “dense”. And since you live in a state/city/town you’re considered “population”.

In science we learned about sea creatures. Did you know that dolphins usually hunt in packs? Also most fish camouflage themselves and when they’re ready, they come out and nibble on their food. Another fact is, most fish in warm temperatures have bright colors, and fish in cold climates have dull colors.

In Science buoyancy is when something floats. Most of the time it depends on what the material its made out of. Also it matters on what type of shape it is.

On planet Earth, the oceans we know are the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Southern and Arctic Oceans. Oceans are a great source of food, energy, and minerals. 97 percent of our world is water. There are lakes, gulfs, marshes, and swamps but oceans are usually bigger. People are lucky on the east and west coast because they can go to the Pacific and the Atlantic but people in the middle of our country really can’t.

An election is when 2 or more people run for an office. For example, every 4 years we elect a president of the United States of America. This year in 2012 our president, Barack Obama, got re-elected.

Maps can help a lot of people because if someone is lost they can just look at a map and they will most likely know where they are. Most maps have a legend and a legend is a place that is basically like a key to help you find where you are or what something means. Some maps are small and some maps are huge!

A lot of states are known for something. For example New Jersey is known as “The Garden State”. Some states are known for their cities like, Las Vegas, Nevada and New York City are very popular. And some states are visited very often like, California, Hawaii, and New Jersey. So what state do you live in, and what makes it special?

Planets are sphere-like shapes that orbit around a star. Our star is the Sun. The planets’ names are Mercury,Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn. Two dwarf planets are Pluto and Ceres. Also Roman gods name are planets for example, Venus is Aphroditie the Greek goddess of love and beauty. If you were an alien what planet would you want to live on?

The American flag is very important and special, because it stands for our country. It says “We have freedom, integrity, and justice.” Its colors are blue, red, and white. It has 13 stripes that represent the 13 colonies, and the 50 stars represent the 50 states. The American flag has a lot of history. What is your flag like?
