His Life During Presidency Republican Elected in 1897 Served as twenty-fifth president Foreign policy dominated McKinley’s Administration Congress declared war for the liberation of Cuba The United States gained the territories of Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines, and gained temporary control over Cuba McKinley being sworn into office
