Jennings Bryan tries to make imperialism an issue  McKinley chooses Teddy Roosevelt as VP  McKinely is assassinated less than one year after being re-elected  Shot at an expo in Buffalo NY by an anarchist  Secret Service charged with protecting all future presidents
