What is Glogster? Glogster is a web site that allows you to make free, digital, interactive posters called Glogs. You can choose backgrounds, text boxes, and images from the Glogster web site. You can import your own images, photos, videos, sound recordings and music. You can send links of your Glogs to anyone, or you can post your Glogs on web pages and social networking sites.

How does Glogster improve 21 st century learning skills? Students can use Glogster across the curriculum to create Glogs that show their analysis and evaluation of virtually any topic Glogster can be used for creative project- based learning, and students can share their ideas with others while also receiving feedback from peers Glogster can be used to help students frame and solve problems

How does Glogster improve 21 st century learning skills? Glogs can be shared and modified allowing students to work cooperatively with students in their own classes or around the world Students are transferring their content knowledge from one domain to another, making decisions about how to succinctly include all the appropriate information Glogster is a Web 2.0 tool that allows students to create in a new multimedia form

Using Glogster After logging in, click on “Create a New Glog”

This is the default Glog. You should change the color of the background and delete the boxes on the screen before starting. Just click on the image and hit delete. To change the background, click “Wall” and choose your background, upload a picture or use your own image as the new background. This is the Magnet Tool. It is the main toolbar for all functions you will use to create your Glog. Using Glogster is easy! You can add graphics, text, images, videos and sounds. Glogster has many graphics for you to choose from, or you can add your own from the internet or your personal files.

Or, a Glog can be created with embedded links to other Glog pages for each topic of a global issue. Each Glog page can have a link back to the Home Page of the Glog project. Glogs can include links to videos or to other web sites, or audio recordings can be embedded. Click here for an example found on Glogster

Future Impacts Glogster EDU allows teachers to set up their classes with private student Glogs and accounts. Glogster EDU also has a social networking feature, monitored by the teacher, that allows students to collaborate and share not only with classmates, but also with students around the world. Teachers can integrate cross-curricular activities—math, science, language arts, social studies, photography, and technology while teaching Web 2.0 tools. Glogster offers multiple opportunities for teachers to assess student learning in core subjects while also using 21 st century skills. Teachers and students can use Glogster along with other Web 2.0 tools such as YouTube, SchoolTube, podcasts, blogs, and wikis to enhance student or classroom web sites, other class projects or student blogs.
