If you want to learn more  Come to the SDC Town Hall on Monday October 5 th at 5:30 PM in A219 Clinical Center/130 Secchia  Watch one of the six previous town halls available at  Buy me a drink (but not right now) 3

What I will talk about  (For the next 10 minutes or so)  (With time for questions)  The role of students in primary care clinical settings in the Early Clinical Experience  The role of nurses and health care assistants as teachers for medical students in these settings  Others will talk about faculty roles 4

Logistics  Students will spend one half-day in a primary care setting twice a week for 16 weeks  Start in early October and continue through mid March  They will be trained for common HCA/nursing skills in advance by CHM faculty  They will be supervised by clinic staff during their time in clinic 7

Potential student roles  (after training)  Rooming patients  Measuring vitals  Giving immunizations  Making follow up phone calls  Providing patient education  Etc., etc. 8
