Using your exchange rate, calculate the cost to go to the movies using your country’s currency. You must show all of your work! An example is included on the next page:

$1.00 USD = $2.50 SSD (Sara Spurr Dollars) 2 movie tickets (I’m taking a friend with me!) $ $8.00= $ sodas$ $2.00 =$ soft pretzel$ box of candy$03.00 Total Cost:$27.00 $1.00 USD$2.50 SSD________ $27.00 USD? SSD $2.50 X $27.00 = $67.50 SSD $67.50 / $1.00 = $67.50 SSD My trip to the movies would cost $67.50 SSD.

Check your work Go to In the Amount box, type in your total cost for the movies in U.S dollars. Make sure the FROM button says USD –U.S. Dollar. Make sure the TO button says your country’s currency. Click Convert. The number should match the total you came up with using your proportions.
