What is New Tools for Health? A regional growth initiative which started in 2005 with a view to provide health-smart innovations in East Sweden. Focus on independent living and home-based care. A non-profit organisation funded by resources from VINNOVA, municipalities, the county council, the industry and the university.

EU 2020 – Flag ship initiatives: - Digital agenda for Europe: Reinforce AAL JP - Innovation union: Focus on societal challenges European Innovation Partnership (EIP): First pilot: Active and healthy ageing to enable our citizens to live longer independently in good health by increasing the average number of healthy life years by 2, and, in achieving this target, to improve the sustainability and efficiency of our social and healthcare systems, and to create an EU and global market for innovative products and services with new opportunities for EU business.
