Climate  Experiences rainfall about 1,000 and 1,500 mm annually but mostly occurring in the summertime.  The Amazon region usually gets a rainfall of more than 2,000 mm but closer to 3,000 mm towards western Amazon annually.  The seasons of Brazil are reverse of what Europe and the United States experience.

Amazon Rainforest

Population and Job Types  190 Million by 2010  Immigration played a big factor during colonial times but still plays a major factor today as well.  A few jobs here are agricultural jobs, working in the tourist industry teaching English, becoming an au pair (living with a family and taking care of their children) and white collar and blue collar jobs (jobs in computers, research, mining, education, marketing, manufacturing and oil processing)

Brazilians

Human Interaction  Since the climate is hot and tropical people tend to wear light clothes and clothes that have cool colors.  The water is contaminated so people have to clean the water before they drink it or drink polluted water.

Water pollution Light clothing

Environment interaction  The environment has a deforestation problem going on in the Amazon. 66% of Brazil territory is covered in forest but clearing and burning the trees was at a all time high in 1970’s and 1980’s.  Most of the clearing and burning of the trees were due to the activity that was done by ranchers and the techniques farmers had used.

Movement  Is very dependent on importing of some goods to support the countries industry demand.  The goods that are imported are the products that they need but does not produce.  Export- coffee beans, shoes, plane parts, Brazilian nuts and soybeans.  Import- Machinery, electrical and transportation equipment, chemical products, and oil.

Movement  Brazil imports from the United States.  Exports from the United States.  Brazil’s biggest trading partner is the United States.

Regions  The northeast experiences very hot weather without any wind.  South region is different from the rest of the country. This region has a temperature climate. In the summer its very humid and hot and in the winter its really cold.

Regions  Southeast- is diverse with the temperature that follows the three main factors (the latitudinal, the topography and the influence of disturbed circulation systems.) But the strongest temperature is tropical climate.  Midwest- Very hot during the summer and has 2 main characteristics- it rains 4 straight months ( December- March) and the months between (April and June) there is a climate switch where its very cold in the morning, very hot during midday and cold again at night.
