Cooperative- A type of ownership in which people buy shares of stock in a nonprofit housing corporation. “Buy” apartment by purchasing shares in the corporation. More shares = a bigger apartment. Townhome- One of a row of houses connected with common side walls.

Freestanding Owner-built- People with lots of spare time, energy, and building skills.

Freestanding Factory-built- constructed in a plant and moved to a site.

Freestanding Factory-built –Modular- factory-built in a coordinated series of modules. Wall, floor, ceiling, and roof panels combined in boxes.

Freestanding Manufactured/mobile- completely built in a factory.

Freestanding Site-built- built on a lot, piece by piece on a foundation.
