Introducing Microsoft FrontPage Web Page in FrontPage 2003 Text Hyperlinks Graphic Frames

Starting FrontPage With computer running and Windows desktop visible on the screen Click on Start From Start menu, choose Programs, then Microsoft FrontPage

Exploring the FrontPage Screen Opening view is a blank Web page in frame View buttons located on left  Call functions which are specific to working with Webs Web: a group of related and interconnected Web pages Web page: a document than be viewed on Internet with its own URL Web site: group of Web pages linked together in cohesive, navigable way

Opening a Web Page Pages will be created and saved Must know how to retrieve these pages after they have been saved to a file Requirements for opening a page  Must know the name of the file  Must know where it is located Pages which have not been saved are indicated with an asterisk (*)

Saving a Web Page Work must be saved  When finished working with a file  Frequently during work in case of power outage or computer failure Files can be saved to  Hard drive  Floppy disk  Network drive

Using the Page View Most Web pages designed in Page view Text, graphics, etc. added and reformatted in this view Other views primarily used for managing Web Page views include  Normal  HTML  Preview

Getting Help in Front Page Help options for Microsoft FrontPage  Contents, Answer Wizard, Index These show as tabs on the Help dialog box For Index tab, enter key word Alternatively, choose a key word from the list (Scroll to desired word) Index finds topics related to key word Select desired topic Help topic displayed

Exiting FrontPage Important to exit the FrontPage (or any) application properly Prevents data loss Use File and Exit or click on the X in the upper right hand corner of the screen

Exiting FrontPage FrontPage checks to see if you have saved all current pages before exiting Dialog box reminds you, offers opportunity to save the page(s) or cancel the exit
