Testimonial Cathy Moulder - McMaster We have been very pleased with the DMTI data. It is good quality, and accurate when compared to other data sources. Beautifully prepared and delivered for minimum effort (and knowledge) on the part of the end user. The ArcView projects that are included are great, effortless, and the scale thresholding to facilitate display is a great benefit that would have taken me hours.

Decompress Advice The only instruction we have found it necessary to give users of this data is to be sure to use the TMSETUP.EXE file to decompress Do not use normal pkzip or other decompression software

Metadata Not as complete and technically comprehensive as we have been accustomed to receiving from other data suppliers. The DMTI people have been very prompt in responding to questions by means of the Geoconsortium listserv. But the answers to some questions have been rather vague from the point of view of scholars who really want to know the source of particular data elements in order to access their accuracy.

Comparison We are now preferring the DMTI census boundary files to StatsCan originals in most instances, and the DMTI postal code files to StatsCan PCCF always.

About DMTI Develops and markets web enabled spatial data and software products used in corporate and institutional information and marketing systems. Canadian publisher of street map and routing data (CanMap®) and geocoding software (GeoPinpoint).

About DMTI Positionally accurate geo-spatial data products including: transportation and telecommunication data, census data and boundaries, postal geography, topographic maps, marketing databases and U.S. data.

SMART, Spatial Mapping Academic Research Tools. Participating Canadian Universities and Colleges with access to geospatial mapping data products Participants receive an enterprise wide site license to use the data for teaching and research purposes only.
