My Summary The book Frindle is about a kid in the fifth grade that makes up a different word for pen: Frindle. He makes this new word because one day he is trying to slow down the teacher and he asks about dictionary so he has to write a report about them. Then the next day he shares his report and tries to waste the whole class. After that he asks a question “why does dog mean dog.” She said “because that is how it is.” So he made up the word frindle he used it at school with his frindes. Then one of his teacher said they could not use that word or they would have to stay after school and write sentences but they all use the word any way. Read to find out more.

My Response For my response I did a diary in the perspective of the main character

My Exploration Andrew Clements was born May 29, 1949. He is a writer of kids books in the U.S.A. He grew up in two different places. One of them is Camden, New Jersey and the other one is Springfield, Illinois. After he graduated from Northwestern University, he worked as a teacher. He started his career writing songs, then he was a publisher of children’s books. His first book was Frindle, which has won sixteen state book awards. This book has also been translated into many different languages they are German, Italian, French, Korean, Portuguese, Basque, Hungarian, Japanese, Dutch, and Spanish.
