Life of James Chadwick By: Josh Brown & Christopher D. Redd

Facts about Chadwick  James Chadwick was born in Bollington, Cheshire, England October 20, 1981 the first child of John Joseph and Anne Mary Knowles, a domestic servant.  His dad was a cotton spinner.  Named after his Grandfather  In 1895, his parents moved to Manchester, leaving him in the care of his maternal grandparents  Chadwick graduated from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1911,  He studied under Ernest Rutherford who was known as “Father of nuclear physics”

 In 1895, his parents moved to Manchester, leaving him in the care of his maternal grandparents  He went to Bollington Cross Primary School, and was offered a scholarship to Manchester Grammar School, But couldn’t go because of the fees.  Instead he attended the Central Grammar School for Boys in Manchester, rejoining his parents there.  Chadwick graduated from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1911,  He studied under Ernest Rutherford who was known as “Father of nuclear physics

Chadwick Bio  James died at the age of 82 on July 24, 1974  James studied the Laws of Physics  The same year, Chadwick was awarded an 1851 Research Fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851  Chadwick followed Rutherford to the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, where Chadwick earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree under Rutherford's supervision from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge in June 1921

In the year of 1932 James Chadwick conducted a series of experiments. He was part of the Manhattan project that worked on the atomic bomb in WW2. Chadwick's experiment included projecting alpha particles toward Beryllium "the light element".

His atomic theory James discovered the neutron in a atom. He established that the atomic number is determined by number of protons in a atom. He got a Nobel piece prize in 1932 for discovering the Nobel piece prize.
