GOAL #1: Create a sustainable alternative to the lodging that exists in the Dominican Republic. - Sustainable green architecture and building design incorporated with local architecture -Built with salvaged recycled and renewable local materials -Comprehensive Energy conservation policy: Energy efficient lighting and appliances, power cut off switches, sea water cooling system, solar hot water panels -Water conservation policy: water drawn from local well, low flow toilets, showers and faucets, high-efficient washers and dryers

-Wastewater treatment facility used to treat waste from the ecolodge and nearby town -Waste management includes giving food waste and recycled materials to locals - Natural landscape design: Landscaped with native plant species, Minimal land cleared and reduction of impervious surfaces. -Preserved Land: Portion of land purchased and designated for the preservation and conservation of natural resources and wildlife

GOAL #2: Create a cultural experience for our guests. -bringing in local food through native chefs -native Antillean and Creole recipes -inspiration from the local architecture and atmosphere -concerts by local musicians at the facility -merengue and bachata -museums and historical sites -excursions for the more adventurous tourist

GOAL #3: Integrate the local community through jobs. -tourism is the largest employer in the Dominican Republic -unemployment: 14.1% in % are below the poverty line -hiring from the local community -no seasonal employment

GOAL #4: Sponsor volunteers and eventually create our own volunteer program in order to help the Dominican Republic as a nation. -The Dominican Republic is an impoverished nation -Focus on preserving the environment and increasing the quality of life for the community -Building houses, schools, community center -Waste management -Reforestation -Working with prior volunteer organizations to build a foundation -Monitor community satisfaction through questionnaires to determine what needs to be done
