PARENTS, AT ANY TIME YOU MAY ASK…  Whether your student’s teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject he / she is teaching.  Whether your student’s teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state qualifications were waived.  What degrees your student’s teacher holds?  Information about the paraprofessional’s qualifications if your child receives help from a paraprofessional.

HOW IS TITLE I PARENT INVOLVEMENT MONEY SPENT?  Any LEA with a Title 1 Allocation exceeding $500,000 is required by law to set aside 1% of it’s Tittle 1 Allocation for parental involvement.  Of that 1%, 5% may be reserved at the LEA for system-wide initiatives related to parental involvement. The remaining 95% must be allocated to all Title I schools in the LEA.  Therefore each Title I school receives its portion of the 95% to implement school-level parental involvement.  You, as parents, have the right to give input in how this money is spent.
