Presentation transcript:

Presentation by SNCF in 19/20 April 2004 Meeting in Kranjska

Topic 3: User manuals Simplicity for the understanding and operation Practical Almost perfect The user feels satisfied with the consequences

Some aspects are expected to be improved by the developers Stability of the software

Topic 4: Installation reports and test program Mechanical installation for 2 wagons in the 9 th, 10 th, 11 th March 2004 at Miramas Some small problems about the calibration for the loading sensors (the loading sensors send an error distance data between the sensor plane and the rail surface) Installations of the remaining components at the end of April 2004

Test program FM is located in the St Lazare in Paris Business Unit "Coal and Steel Products" Installation and initialisation at Miramas under a supervision of the TRANSPORTDATA and EDC 8 S 56 wagons for the transport of coils (steel) between Fos Coussoul (France) - Avigliana (Italy) 2 S 58 wagons for the transport of steel among France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden with different itineraries in Europe

Active/sleep mode on the OBTs Delay Load/unloading monitoring For a guarantee in the success for test program: well- comprehension for the software (operation procedure and some basic principle for the software in general) so as to know when a problem occurs, where is the problem and who is responsible for solving the problem - because there are many different partners in the F-MAN project and a limited IT knowledge for FM If the software isn’t available and the problem is serious, then the user can request the developers (IVU and NTUA) to solve it

Finally deliverance will consist on a global synthesis of the obtained results (the results will be compared with initial function scenarios and design in the document of the F-MAN verification plan, F-MAN architecture, Function analysis, Description of the functional requirements). The remarks of the fleet manager on the functions and the man machine interface (software). Some parts about the software should be updated and modified according to the feedback from the users.

Topic 6: Questions about exploitation Joining F-MAN: Internal goals for doing so? Improve the rotation efficiency for our wagons resources Improve our productivity of the Railway Company

Present role of F-MAN in your company Integrated with the PCA: “Coal and Steel Products” The project is very favourable

Tests: Participation of the other departments than freight? PCA: “Coal and Steel Products”

After the end of the project: How the F-MAN prototype will be integrated in your IT – world? Which kind of feasibility study has been made/is planned?

It brings us again a new IT application in our railway company. More nicely, it is the application for new technologies - telecommunication and computer in the transport area (Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)) We will take great advantage of the new technology which plays an important role in our railway company. Dissemination and implementation of the software in all Europe railway company by way of a Business Management Tool (E-commerce) One of the successful projects in Europe and quicken Europe integration

Thanks for your attention!
