Presentation transcript:

What is an Internet Browser? Internet browser— An Internet browser is a client program that knows how to interpret HTML code and display information and graphics to a client. Some Internet browsers also have the capability to interpret and run programming languages at the client computer (such as Java or VBScript). Software Application Used for retrieving, presenting, and transferring informational resources. -Can be an image, webpage, video or piece of content. -Primarily intended to access the world wide web

Why Safari? Security Feature One particularly useful feature is its handling of browser cookies Instead of merely letting you enable or disable cookies altogether, Safari gives you a third option that enables cookies for the sites you visit but disables other cookies that are on the same page. For example, if you visit a news site, Safari will accept cookies for just that site, and not cookies for the page's advertisements. International Localizations Safari is available in 16 languages and can spell-check in 14 languages.

Cont… Safari Reader When you read an article on a site in Safari 5, you can click the small Reader button in the address bar, and up slides an overlay that displays only the article's text.

Cont… Built in Bing Search More customizable If you’re using Safari on a PC with Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, you’ll feel right at home because Safari features a native look — just like other Windows applications — including a native title bar, borders, and toolbars. Twitter is available on the customizable toolbar
