 Listens to the Application Software and translates information to the hardware  Listens to the hardware and translates information back to the Application Software and the User  Also called “OS”

Runs the basic operations of the computer Controls the hardware Makes running other types of software possible –Microsoft Windows (several versions) –Linux –UNIX –Apple (several versions)

 Mac OS works only with Apple’s hardware.  Mac OS is highly used by graphic artists, designers and most others who work with visual and audio media.  Mac OS synchronizes user information across multiple Apple devices.  Virtually virus free.  Apple hardware/computers cost more than the average PC.

 Where is my hard drive?  How much RAM memory do I have?  Where is my monitor?  Where is my keyboard?  Do I have a mouse?  Do I have speakers?  What else do I have?

 Save As  When you need to select the location to save to.  Save  When location has already been selected.  Quick save

 Make a copy  Work on the copy  Keep the original “original”

 Move files and folders from here  To here Use the mouse to drag the files/folders & drop into new location.

 Permanently removes file and folders.  Make sure you really want to delete BEFORE you delete!!! Do I really want to delete?
