English/Language Arts All students should know and be able to: With prompting and support, retell familiar stories, including at least one detail With prompting and support, begin to identify in a story With prompting and support, name the author and illustrator of a story Actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding With prompting and support, identify the main topic Follow words from left to right Understand that words are separated by spaces in print Read leveled text on an A level Mathematics All students should know and/or be able to: Count to 100 by ones and by tens (including counting forward from any given number) Write and represent the number of objects using numerals from 0 to 20 Count to tell the number of objects Classify objects and count the number of objects in categories Describe the relative positions of objects using appropriate terms Compares sets and numerals between 1 and 10 in 3 ways (equal to, more than, and less than the other) Ongoing throughout the school year, students should be able to (1) Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them; (2) Reason abstractly and quantitatively; (3) Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others; (4) Model with mathematics; (5) Use appropriate tools strategically; (6) Attend to precision; (7) Look for and make use of structure; (8) Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
