Heating a Test Tube Point opening away from you and others Never look into the test tube Heat gently

Cuts/Burns Report the most minor of cuts and/or burns

Spills/Accidents Clean up spills; then report if necessary

Disposal and Clean Up Leave it as you found it unless directed otherwise. Follow disposal directions for each lab. No solids in drain Dispose of liquids down the drain ONLY when instructed to do so.

Broken/Chipped Glass Do not use Report and get a replacement

Getting Too Much of a Chemical Do NOT return to original container Ask other lab groups if they may need it Ask Mr. Lajeunesse how to dispose of it

Wearing Eye Protection Wear safety glasses from beginning to the end of every lab.

Hot Glass/Iron Rings Make sure to wait until glass or iron ring is cool before touching. Use the back of your hand and hold close to the object. If you feel warmth, it is too hot to touch. Hot glass looks exactly like cool glass.

Mixing Acid and Water Do what you oughta, put the acid in the water. This means water must be put into the container first, then the acid.
