Presentation transcript:

Nothing is more important to us on Earth than the Sun. Without the Sun's heat and light, the Earth would be a cold big rock. The Sun warms our seas, gives us light, makes our weather, and gives energy to the growing green plants that provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth.

The sun helps us by giving us warmth & gives us light during the day. Without the sun we wouldn’t be able to have any plants made or anything to survive and we will be cold.

We definitely need the sun to survive, for many reasons. Without the sun, our planet would get extremely cold, and all living things on it would die. Plants use the sun's energy to grow, which they use to make nutrients and vitamins.

The sun helps all living things on earth. One of the amazing things sunlight gives to us is Vitamin D. It gives plants food and energy and gives us warmth and happiness. The sun also gives us plenty of light and if we didn’t have the sun we wouldn’t have rain or snow.

The sun is only one of millions and millions of stars in the Galaxy. We see it as a large round and red ball only because we are much closer to the Sun than to any of the other stars. Other stars may be larger, brighter, smaller or fainter than our Sun but they are so very far away that we only see them as points of light in the night sky. The earth is one of nine planets that orbit around the sun in what we call the solar system.
