Jesus Christ Appears To His Disciples

 After Jesus’ crucifixion, He was buried in a tomb.  On the third day, Jesus Christ raised from the dead.

 The disciples were gathered in St. Mark’s house.  They were afraid of the Jews so they locked themselves in the house.

 Sunday evening, Jesus appeared in the middle of the room and said;  ”Peace be with you.”  Then he showed them his scars on his hands and side.

 The disciples were so glad to see Jesus.  Jesus breathed on them and said;  “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any they are forgiven, if you hold the sins of any, they are held.”

 However, Thomas was NOT with the rest of the disciples when Jesus had appeared to them.  So the disciples told him;  “We have seen the Lord.”  But Thomas did not believe them and said;  “Unless I see in His hands the print of nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand on His side, I will not believe.

 Eight days later, His disciples were again in the upper room and Thomas was with them this time.  The doors were locked and Jesus appeared again among them and said;  “Peace be with you.”

 Jesus turned to Thomas and said;  “Put your finger here, and see my hands, and put your hand on my side, do not be faithless but believing.”

 Thomas answered Him;  “My Lord and my God.”  Thomas then believed in the Lord.

We are all children of Christ. We come to church every Sunday and take communion, although we don’t see Jesus Himself. We learn from Thomas’ mistake. We believe without seeing.

So what can we do this week to make our faith stronger ?  Next time I’m scared of anything, I will do the sign of the cross and remember that Jesus is with me, protecting me even if I can’t see Him.  Whenever I have a problem at school or with my little brother/sister, I will pray and ask Jesus to help me.
