Scripture Reading ~ Pastor Sam Law John 20:19-31

John 20:19-31 (NIV) Jesus Appears to His Disciples 19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

John 20:19-31 (NIV) Jesus Appears to Thomas 24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.

John 20:19-31 (NIV) 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

“Fear-less Living” ~ Pastor Sam Law ECC-EKC English Service June 5, 2005

Fear-less Living 1.We can live fear-lessly because of Jesus’ finish work With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ's being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death. 14 Fear-less Living 3. We can live fear-lessly because we have Jesus’ Spirit But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace…. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:6 b, 11 But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace…. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:6 b, 11

Fear-less Living 4. We can live fear-lessly because Jesus is still at work today And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age – Matthew 28:20 (NLT) And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age – Matthew 28:20 (NLT)
