AIDS Awareness  In April 1987, Princess Diana became the first “high- profile” celebrity to touch a person infected with HIV  Thanks to that act of kindness, Princess Diana changed the public’s opinions of patients with AIDS  She also made unannounced visits to terminally ill AIDS patients

Landmines Campaigns  She served as an International Red Cross VIP volunteer and visited landmine survivors in hospitals  Attended mine awareness education classes  She also had a big influence on the signing by the gov. of the UK and other nations of the Ottawa Treaty in December 1997  This created an international ban on the use of anti-personnel landmines Princess Diana with landmine victims Princess Diana in landmine fields

Legacy  Princess Diana was a humanitarian and succeeded in making the world a better place  She was involved in AIDS awareness  She was also involved in many charity works for children who were underprivileged, drug abused,and who were suffering from an illness

Legacy  Princess Diana had a special gift  It was to make people happy by shaking their hands, hugging them or by talking to them  She won the hearts of many around the world by her loving and compassionate nature
