Inheritance By the end of this lesson you should be able to: Describe what selective breeding is. Explain why selective breeding is useful to humans Describe one example in plants & one in animals

Selective Breeding Farmers are always trying to improve their livestock or crops. Dairy farmers want to have a herd of cows that produce large quantities of milk

Selective Breeding Which two cows will the farmer choose to be the parents, if he wants a calf that produces high quality milk?

Selective Breeding Beef farmers want to breed cattle that are heavy. This should mean that there is as much meat as possible for sale.
