UNEP/GEF WIO-LaB Project17 Nairobi Convention Clearinghouse Mechanism Activities undertaken so far: 1.Development of an Information Management Strategy for the Eastern Africa Coastal and Marine Regional CHM 2.Workshop on the Development of a CHM on the Eastern African Coastal and Marine Environment: 9-11 May 2006, Nairobi 3.Appointment of National CHM Focal Institutions (NFI) and establishment of National Working Groups 4.Development of basic CHM system/infrastructure 5.Individual country visits to each NFI by UNEP/DEWA 6.Training workshop on the development of the Nairobi Convention CHM, August 2007, Mauritius 7.Establishment of Memorandums of Understanding and Procurement of servers for each of the Focal Institutions 8.Official launch of the CHM during the 5 th Conference of Parties of the Nairobi Convention
