Did you know? Kilojoules and kilocalories are both measures (units) of the amount of energy in food. The correct term for what we commonly call ‘Calories’ is kilojoules (kJ) or kilocalories(kcal). The average man needs around 10,500kJ or 2,500kcal a day to maintain a healthy body The average woman needs around 8,400kJ or 2,000kcal a day.
