Motivation in sport is the drive force of pushing someone and making them determine to take part or score there goals

Intrinsic Motivation is where The individual has the desire to perform a specific task, because its what they want to do Extrinsic Motivation is where the individual desires to perform a task and controlled by an outside source. For example a prise of some sort

The reason motivation is so important is that it is the only contributor to sports performance over which you have control. motivation keeps you going. You have to constantly nurture your motivation, reevaluate what you are doing and why you are doing it. If you keep your motivation going strong, you will be successful. But you have to remember to keep adding to it or it will burn out motivation will impact performance. It is also the only factor over which you have control. Motivation will directly impact the level of success that you ultimately achieve. If you are highly motivated to improve your performances, then you will put in the time and effort necessary to raise your game.
