WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Final Thoughts: Three Factors necessary to become a National Board Certified Teacher 1:You must be an accomplished teacher/librarian (Know your subject, how to teach it to all your students, and go above and beyond your classroom responsibilities) 2: Must put in the hours necessary to complete the initial portfolio. 3: Must follow the directions and show evidence of the NBPTS standards and impact on student learning in your writing. 42
