WHAT WE WILL COVER What is a learning style VARK Explained Test Yourself

WHAT IS A LEARNING STYLE? A learning style refers to a student’s pattern of learning preference that is consistent across circumstances. So, for example, a student who is a visual learner will prefer visual input and revision materials no matter what the subject and no matter what they’re learning to do.

VARK EXPLAINED There are four learning styles; Visual, Auditory, Read and Write and Kinaesthetic. The initials of these styles together spell the acronym VARK. Some people are a mix of two or more of these styles.

VARK EXPLAINED Check out this video clip that explains the VARK system in more detail

TEST YOURSELF

You can test your own learning style by completing the VARK questionnaire online – it only takes 5 minutes or so! Follow the link under this topic to complete your assessment. Link:

VARK EXERCISE Suggest different ways of learning that might suit each particular style

CHECK HANDOUTS Check the handouts for suggestions of methods of revision that suit your learning style!
