Defiance The defiant teenager stayed out past curfew. Some students show defiance by tucking their shirts in. Rosa Parks showed her defiance when she was faced with unfair treatment. Now write your own sentence using this word.

Evident After the weather dropped 20 degrees it was evident I needed to wear my coat. It was evident from his look he did not like the food. She wanted to help make the unjust treatment evident or easy to see. Now write your own sentence using this word.

resonated The thunder resonated in the gym. The announcer’s voice resonated in the stadium. To some, her actions resonated like an echo that says, “Fight for your beliefs. Fight for your beliefs.” Now write your own sentence using this word.

persistent Mr. Ingram is persistent when it comes to handing your work in on time. I practice persistently in order to be good at something. Rosa Parks was persistent in fighting for her beliefs. Now write your own sentence using this word.

oppression Native Americans faced oppression by European Settlers. Some people thought when he hit him it was an act of oppression. Remedies My mom’s remedies include hot tea and honey. One remedy was to put a cold wash cloth on your forehead to get rid of a headache. Like the remedies that doctors offer the sick, the institute offers a cure for those who suffer from lonliness. Now write your own sentence using this word.
