doc: IEEE /0388r5November 2006 Submission Kwak, Rudolf, InterDigital 2 Introduction Extended Channel Switch Response proposal: simple response frame added to address TGv objective #2000, Dynamic Channel Selection: TGv shall support Dynamic Channel Selection, to allow STAs to avoid interference. Solution shall be able to change the operating channel (and/or band) for the entire BSS during live system operation and be done seamlessly with no intermittent loss of connectivity from the perspective of an associated STA. Solution shall not define algorithm for channel selection. Normative Text in x-000v

doc: IEEE /0388r5November 2006 Submission Kwak, Rudolf, InterDigital 3 Simple Addition Extended Channel Switch Announcement in beacons and in standalone frame adopted at last meeting. Spray and pray solution w/o coordination needed for seamless service transitions to new channel. Simple short Extended Channel Switch Response frame adds missing feedback from STA needed for AP to select best new channel. Standard Request/Response exchange Is an optional feature not used when continuity of service for individual STAs is important.

doc: IEEE /0388r5November 2006 Submission Kwak, Rudolf, InterDigital 4 Normative Text Review: 06/1485 Minimal additions to 11v draft: New Channel Switch Response frame added to provide response code and optional alternative channel number. Optional Dialog Token added to Extended Channel Switch Announcement frame to invoke response Simple procedure requiring receiving STA to send response before channel switch Walkthrough Normative Text Document: v-NormText_Extended_Channel_Switch_Response.doc

doc: IEEE /0388r5November 2006 Submission Kwak, Rudolf, InterDigital 5 Conclusions Simple implementation Provides seamless, acknowledged channel required for QOS services. More work needed on normative text details and response codes. Questions & Discussion
