Innovations from Templates no longer in use for letters ‘Conditions to be removed’ language no longer in use Letters addressed to next level of review and copied to candidate and all previous reviewers Use of ‘mandatory’ and ‘non-mandatory’ language as opposed to ‘early tenure’ with no ‘higher bar’ for non-mandatory tenure case Elimination of appointment forms for faculty on continuing appointments Annual salary letters will be generated only if an individual’s salary changes for the coming year. Joint appointments: the ‘primary’ department should conduct the review with input from the other department.

Innovation: New for Elimination of RPT review in the first year for all new tenure-track faculty All dossiers submitted electronically No changes to dossier format Cover page and letter reflect if committee recommendation is ‘non-unanimous.’ Committee letters should include ‘minority opinion’ in the case on a non-unanimous recommendation Departmental and college guidelines to be developed and approved by the end of Fall 2015

Next year Electronic dossiers using standardized template and cover form ‘Artifacts’ may continue to be required by department and/or college RPT guidelines New dossier management system may be in place, otherwise we will continue to use Blackboard During the pre-tenure period two substantive, dossier-based reviews will be required. Annual reviews and mentoring take on additional importance. Details forthcoming.
