2 Major impacts to Vocational Education and Training Responding to the changing labour market needs by:  Providing on the job training  Recognition of prior learning  Flexible skill gap training  Offering skill sets to support multi-skilling for workers in aged and disability services

3 Provide Customer Support  Blended learning opportunities allow for individual learning styles  Self learning (e-learning) not institute based  Increased flexibility and responsiveness to client / industry needs  Strengthening partnerships  Increasing VET in Schools pathways into nursing and aged care

4 Provide Customer Support (cont’d)  Supporting the needs of mature age workers with retraining and reskilling opportunities  Increasing Indigenous pathways into aged care and health qualifications  Providing support services and learning and career opportunities for students with disabilities  Incorporating language and literacy tutorial support for students

5 Roles of teachers as change agents Teachers roles will encompass:  facilitating the learning environment  providing leadership and role models for all teachers  motivating and harnessing students’ needs to know and learn  coaching students and teachers in new technology  brokerage role with industry to form partnerships and links between the teaching/practice continuum.
