Statements of Qualification O Must be on file for all non-certified Music, Art, Technology, and Foreign Language teachers. O Do not need to renew each year. O New hires who do not have a Statement of Qualification in their file must have one before ARCA is completed. O Elizabeth your request, prior to October 15 th, 2014 O Elizabeth can send you a sample request letter if you need one.

Eas-ed Website O In June, the Superintendents voted to use FCC reserve money to update the ARCA and the Eas-ed website. O One goal for the updated website will allow each school to have a library of evidence with each piece of evidence being uploaded only one time, rather than multiple times as evidence for various standards.

Florida Catholic Conference Annual Dues: Due September 12, 2014 O Dues will remain the same this year: $1.95 per student in Pre-K 3 – grade 8. O On-line payments are preferred. The online payment option is a transfer of funds. The school’s bank account information is needed. detailed information on how to make your payment is in the FCC Education Newsletter from Mary Camp – sent out last Friday. O Dues will increase from $1.95 per student to $2.00 per student for the 2015 – 2016 school year.

Advanced Catechist Certification for Principals O New Principals: Four years from the date of hire. O Principals hired prior to July 1, 2012 must complete Advanced Catechist Certification by July 1, 2016.

Teacher Certification Step-up and McKay Requirement: Teachers must hold certification for the subjects they are teaching.

Grading Policy Committee Update O The Grading Policy Committee is in the process of researching and carefully selecting additional quality videos for Principals to use for professional development throughout the year.

Year One of the Five Year Plan Educating Educators O Related PD on the detrimental effects of zeros on the 100 point scale and other practices that do not support the research on student learning and assessment. O Begin the understanding and practice that academic assessments should only reflect what students know, understand and are able to do. O Begin the understanding and practice that behavior and non-academic attributes are important but should be recorded separately. O The GPC will present a rubric for reporting “Citizenship” and “Conduct.”
