1.A: The Blue Devil is a powerful mascot - but for Duke University! Try another answer. 1.B: An Owl is certainly a wise bird, but not the University of Maryland mascot. Try another answer. 1.C: The Cougar is a strong animal and would be a good mascot, but the University of Maryland has chosen a different animal. Try another answer. 1.D: Congratulations! The Terrapin is the University of Maryland’s mascot. The Terrapin is a type of turtle which is why you see at sporting events people holding signs that say “fear the turtle!”

Once you have your parents’ permission, check the parents’ permission box and then click “Submit.” Once the child has checked the parents’ permission box and re- submitted the quiz, a final information request form will appear asking for name, house/street address, city, state, zip code, and shirt size.

6. The only information required for us to send you a prize (if your name is drawn) is your name, mailing address, and shirt size. You should always be very careful when asked to give personal information about yourself and ALWAYS check with your parents before giving this information. Guidelines for Parents Educate yourself about the Internet. -Sit down at the computer with your kids - take time to see what they’re doing online and what their interests are. -Establish clear ground rules for Internet use. -Decide whether or not to use parental control tools or protective/blocking filtering software. -Explain to your children that people online may not be who they claim to be. -Teach kids never to send photographs or give out any personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers, passwords) to anyone they meet online. -Instruct your child never to plan a face-to-face meeting alone with online acquaintances without your permission and supervision. -Tell your child not to respond to offensive or disturbing , chat, or other communications. -Monitor online use and set time limits. -Place your computer in the family room or another open area of your home.

And don’t forget… If you become aware of an illegal activity such as the transmission of child pornography or if you suspect any other crime, such as fraud, please report it immediately to the police.
