Jennie Barker Parent Engagement

Where will my child go?  We all have big dreams for our kids.  Take a minute and think about what big dream do I have for my child.  Write those dreams down.

Setting goals  To make our dreams happen, we set goals.  Tonight we will work together to help set reasonable goals for your child.

Classroom presentations  Kindergarten-readiness and mandatory retention. Graphs, goals, modeling on how to work with child and score the sheets.  First through sixth grade-Importance of fluency in both reading and math. Graphs, goals, practice with another parent on scoring.

Packets Graph with reading data. Leveled reading passages. Reading recording sheet. Graph with math data. Leveled math sheets. Math recording sheet. Timer and crayons. MTSS handbook National PTA hand out for each grade level.

Students who returned completed work received prizes. Three parent meetings occurred over the year. The second meeting focused on Math. The third meeting focused on MTSS and Interventions.
