A cube and two similar cylinders weigh 250g altogether. A cube and three similar cylinders weigh 300g altogether. How much does a cube weigh? The extra cylinder weighs 50g The two original cylinders weigh 100g altogether. The cube weighs 250g - 100g = 150g.

Joe has two 50p coins, three 20p coins and three 5p coins in his pocket. He wants to buy a football. How much more money does he need? £4.00 Joe has £1 + 60p + 15p = £1.75 He needs £4 - £1.75 = £2.25 more

How many minutes less than a quarter of an hour will the job take? 90 black and white sheets will take 5 minutes. 52 colour sheets will take 4 minutes. The job will take 9 minutes which is 6 minutes less than a quarter of an hour. 6 min.
