AV/Xerox On your way to being real nerds…

Audio/Visual Equipment Every Carbarn classroom is the same! Note: The projectors are controlled by the opposite side of the remote (when working them, think of which side it would be when you face the BOARD…) Equipment in Carbarn Classrooms: Wireless Lapel Microphone Laptop Connections Visualizer Projector and Screens Wireless Mouse PC (with DVD player) Projector/Screen Remote VCR

Equipment Description Wireless Lapel Microphone: Very strong and works all over room! Kept in Slot Under Flap on Left Side of Desk Not working? Check Volume 1 st Check Battery (takes 9V)

Equipment Description Laptop Connections Kept in Slot Under Flap on Left Side of Desk Audio Plug VGA Port (for video = monitor connection thing.)

Equipment Description Visualizer Same as overhead projector, just digital and way cooler. Uses a digital camera to relay anything on its table. Can fold away (another way to focus!) Not working? Check Power and Video Cable

Equipment Description Wireless Mouse Can wave it around, but also works on surfaces. To use: pull trigger, wave in air. Works all over room! Not working? CHARGE BATTERY!! It has to lay in its cradle completely. (Some Profs don’t remember this…)

Equipment Description PC On Left Under Podium Where You Can Play DVDs DON’T MOVE PC!! This can disconnect the wires and that’s a BIG problem.

Equipment Description Right Side Under Podium!

Right Side Under Podium “Stuff” Master Switch! (Turns everything on/off) Audio On/Off VCR Outputs: 1 and 5 should be selected. i/o both have to be lit (it’s video & audio) SHURE receiver: needs to be ON, can tweak squelch here. AXLINK and AXCENT: brains of the operation, won’t need to mess with Them. Master Volume Power These switches work best when all slightly to left! These two switches should be OFF

Equipment Description Remote This piece is particularly expensive. As a precaution, Cleve has created the PC Touch Program which will be the 1 st thing to pop up when logging in (it’s a digital representation of the remote!).

Equipment Description PC TOUCH! It’s the same as the remote, but on the computer. Neat, huh.

PC Touch and Remote Functions You can lower or raise the screens from here. Can also do this at the keypad next to the whiteboard (on the left side when facing board.) Volume? VCR controls (play, pause, etc.) Here’s where you turn on and off the projectors. Select the PC Select Visualizer Select VCR AUX 1 is for laptops! AUX 2 and 3 do nothing!

Things to Remember… Projectors take a minute to warm up…if a red light comes on, that’s bad. But only let the full time staff touch it!! On PC Touch: Master volume has to be up in order to turn this volume up too! No way to split volume – this volume on PC Touch turns EVERYTHING up or down.

XEROX!

XEROX! While there’s a lot of information, here is what we think is the most important for you to know: Jam Clearance “Image Adjustment” Tab “Multi-up” “Annotation” Interrupt and Deleting Jobs

Jam Clearance

All areas you can open have an exclamation point! All jam areas are in GREEN (see arrows) Consumables (ex. Toner) are in ORANGE Toner is NOT interchangeable. The cap should be BLACK. Toner collection bottle in area 1: replace (or dump) when you replace toner. Dark smudges? Clean Xerographic module (the little button looking thing).

“Image Adjustment” Tab “Image Quality” – good for copying photo ID’s! Can lighten or darken, as well as half- tone (good for magazine or book pictures). “Bound Originals” – Put book spine in middle of glass (there is a picture of a book there). Can select which side to copy! There is also a binding erase feature.

“Image Adjustment” Tab Image Quality Bound Originals

“Multi-Up” In “Output Format” Tab Allows proof of four pages of what you’re copying on one printed page. Good for multiple pages on one sheet for big jobs!

“Annotation” Also in “Output Format” Tab Where you can select to put page numbers or the date on your job automatically.

“Output Format” Tab Multi-Up Annotation

Interruption and Deleting Jobs “Interrupt” – Pauses big job so that someone else can copy, then will finish big job when you press interrupt button again. “Job Status” Button – Where you can see all the jobs lined up and/or completed. This is where you can delete jobs. Use this when the “STOP” button does not work.

Interruption and Deleting Jobs Usually features selected, but here’s job status! Machine status (for finding serial number) Interrupt! STOP.

Remember… After 60 seconds, the machine will return everything to default. Master power is behind front door on machine (top right). If asked for the serial number (for help calls, etc.), you can find it in “Machine Status” or under the touch screen behind the front door of machine.
