Adenocarcinoma of the lower esophagus (close to the entry into the stomach), scheduled for gastrectomy and distal, transabdominal esophagectomy.

2009 PCD Showcase Clinical Scenario PCD Scene #1: OR Patient needs full invasive CV monitoring. Patient will get peridural catheter for postoperative pain management. Patient requires perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis with vancomycin and a third generation cefalosporine.
