Today‘s Situation ..equals a growth opportunity. Market for new Vehicle scales is not growing or saturated Due to long-life cycle of Vehicle scales and lower investments Thousands of old but (mechanically) robust Vehicle scales are still in use Due to heavy-duty designs used in the past Old Vehicle scales not very accurate and expensive to maintain Due to old weighing technology (load cells and/or lever systems) Old technology does not hold accuracy METTLER TOLEDO POWERCELL PDX Launch Gives us the opportunity to grow our business, especially service Change the scale brand with a new MT Terminal Chance to sell more than just the terminal Conversions yield more profit than new scale sales Old Vehicle scales not very accurate….  These issues leading to the idea of having Conversion Kits. Avery Weigh-Tronix to PDX Weighbar ® POWERCELL ® PDX® Load Load The AWTS sales force is taught to promote the weight on the load cell in an effort to convey longer life and a more robust design. What they don't tell the customer is that this additional weight is required because the load is being transmitted through a lever. AWT may argue the cell is heavier. It must be heavier otherwise it would fail earlier. This lever action also has an adverse effect on the “potting” that seals the gauge area. The more bending the more likely the cell’s potting will delaminate from the cover allowing moisture and water to wick in. Load bending stress No bending stress
