Presentation transcript:

Trip to Israel, Dec-Jan : Second week in Ra’anana: Saturday

At midday on Saturday my parents arrived to pick us up and took us to their favourite swimming pool. The girls’ initial excitement changed when they got into the water: while Hahgoot was happy to splash around with her grandparents, Alma got very anxious.

After my dad finished his weekly exercises he sat with Alma out of the water so I could do a few laps and then my mother had a turn as I got out and my dad spent time with Hahgoot.

Exhausted Alma fell asleep in the car for 20 minutes (always bad news) and then had a bit of a rest with her sister while exploring a spider and a pumpkin “doll”.

We enjoyed lunch together – lots of great organic produce from my parents’ field.

Alma lost interest in lunch fast (she was more tired than hungry) so she played with a wine corks collection while we finished eating. She came back for dessert (homemade fruit sorbet and cookies). Hahgoot, who didn’t want dessert, tried out one of my mum’s sports ladders (handmade by my dad).

Alma also wanted to have a go and then she figured out herself how to hang from it using her elbows (made her grandma really happy...)

Then Hahgoot spent some time drawing the “bird of paradise” flower her grandpa set up for her as a still life.

The girls enjoyed exploring a large pile of books in Hebrew my dad collected for them. On the way back Alma fell asleep in the car again (more bad news...) so bedtime was VERY difficult, involving lots of giggles and crying (alternately) till about 11 pm. Hahgoot had A LOT of stimming behaviours all evening. The day was a bit of a sensory overload for her, despite enjoying it and seeming positive all day. In our next presentation: we start our third week in Israel
