July 2012 Updates: School Holidays Girl Power

This school holidays we had a lot of girly play dates: We started close to home, with our neighbours Emma and Virginia. The girls made felt finger puppets and built a little theatre together.

Most of the time the girls got along very well. When Hahgoot got stuck on her puppet not being perfect and became very agitated, Emma was clever to distract her with a joke and they soon got along again very well. As the weather was very nice we walked to the park on the main road for a play.

Emma is quite the daredevil!

Hahgoot discovered she can do this apparatus by herself and Alma wanted to try it too. It was a bit hard and she slipped out of my grip, landing on the ground. Alma just got up, spat all the leaves out of her mouth and went back on it again – very refreshing behaviour; I am used to three hours of crying from Hahgoot...

The girls had a great time on the see-saw together

Hahgoot joined her friend Jasmin and her mum Helen to see the movie “Brave”, while Alma and I went out to a Play School show with Ben and Debbie. It was a good choice, as both girls are “warrior princesses”...

We had a very pleasant time at Elijana and Isabella’s house

We visited Charlotte Hughes’ house (around the corner) The girls liked the pretty fish tank and the large trampoline

We had lovely weather for bouncing around

They still had energy to try out the “Let’s Dance” Wii game. Brother Gabe is very good at it!

They have two gorgeous dogs

We had a great visit from the Northridge girls. When Deena and Emma arrived Alma enthusiastically served them chocolate. We had a “Shabbat style” lunch and then I taught a BJE lesson. It was an introductory lesson to the new unit of work and to the new BJE look, that involved learning about the Hebrew word “Emet” (=truth). It went very well.

The girls enjoyed the new workbooks – now in full colour! It was also a good opportunity to teach some writing, so Hahgoot taught her friends to write their names in Hebrew.

We also had a fantastic day with Bernadette and her lovely girls Mia and Sarah, who came especially on the train from Burwood. There were a lot of dress ups...

And lots of yummy food!

Hahgoot was fantastic, very positive, caring and empathic towards her friends and sister all through the holidays. We had a really good school holidays this time, I really enjoyed the days we were alone at home and the ones we had company.

In our next presentation: Alma turns 23 months old! It is so nice to see Hahgoot positively and attentively interacting with other people
