September 2012 Updates: The girls spend an active time together

I try my best to have the girls engaged in positive co-operative interactions: They explored magnetic balls

They rolled each other into yummy tacos and chose books at the “bookshop” games

They decided on prizes for the “good dog competition”, constructed in dominoes, and played Strawberry Land

They dressed the teddies together and discussed their facial expressions, and also worked in their workbooks (Alma does a very good job completing some leftover pages from workbooks Hahgoot did at her age!)

Their cooperation in make-believe storytelling has improved greatly. Their favourite story this month was acting out their bedtime routine with dolls, including dad shouting they should go to bed a zillion times, mum making desperate noises and a monster that arrives to eat them up at the end! It’s like watching a documentary...

They worked together to set up a “bedroom” in the living room (do you get the hint that we have been having trouble with their bedtime routine?! Even they noticed it is getting on the parents’ nerves...)

Hahgoot has been dancing a lot lately, moving much better, twirling and trying new moves, while Alma rolls everywhere...

The girls also enjoy taking turns making rhythms for jumping sequences on the trampoline (one of Carly’s great ideas)

Another successful drawing and workbook session together

One of the strategies for helping Hahgoot calm down and control her behaviour is giving her “time out” to colour-in with the vest on. Alma is always happy to join in and do her work as well

They also explored some new foods like Individual Chicken Puffs (right)

We also tried some unusually shaped eggs and egg rolled in seaweed layers (Japanese style).

Homemade ice blocks with lemon, blueberries, orange, banana and watermelon were popular

Alma LOVED these ice blocks (she had three in one sitting!): They had inside spinach, coconut cream, pineapple and honey! Here are the girls eating in our homemade Sukah (you’ll read more about this in the next presentations)

In our next presentation: We tour the city with Naomi Trostler and Hyma!
