Welcome to our Scotland! We hope virtual journey helps you discover and enjoy Scotland. It is a land where history, legends and magical tales are blended together with scenic Scottish countryside, fairytale castles and wild open places. But where is this beautiful country? Let’s find out it together.

Each ‘clan’ (Scottish word for ‘family’) has its own tartan (woolen material with coloured square designs) and on special occasions they wear traditional Scottish costume which consist of the famous ‘kilt’ (skirt) and special accessories.

The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. It is the cultural centre of the country and one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Edinburgh is full of history with its Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.Castle Holyroodhouse. Edinburgh Castle is an ancient fortress which dominates the sky-line of the city of Edinburgh, and is Scotland’s most famous (and most visited) landmark.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s residence when she is in Edinburgh, with the apartaments of Mary Stuart and Bonny Prince Charlie. Balmoral Castle in Aberdeen is known as the British royal residence in Scotland and it’s favourite residence for The Queen and her family during the summer holiday period in August and September.

Glasgow Glasgow is the largest city of the U.K. after London and Birmingham, and Scotland’s industrial capital. Shipbuilding is the leading industry. But other industries such as iron and steel, engineering and coal-mining are highly developed too. Back to the map
